Riyadh – July 2, 2025 (7 Muharram 1447 AH)
In support of academic excellence and nurturing national talent, King Saud University, in partnership with the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), has launched an academic and research enrichment program for summer 2025, targeting 533 gifted students from general education, across precise scientific tracks aimed at preparing a generation of Saudis capable of competing globally and leading the country's knowledge-based transformation.

This year, the university is hosting a select group of gifted students in specialized programs covering artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, renewable energy, data science, cryptography, and biomedical and bioengineering. The academic content is delivered under the supervision of top scientific talent, within a modern university environment that combines theory and practice across an integrated system of colleges and advanced research institutes.

The academic enrichment program for male students includes 10 precise scientific tracks in addition to two skills courses in emotional intelligence and citizenship and identity, while the women's campus offers 11 enrichment units spread across 14 scientific divisions, supported by skills packages that build critical thinking and personal creativity.

The research enrichment program also gives participants a unique opportunity to engage in scientific research at the King Abdullah Institute for Nanotechnology, through scientific workshops, applied projects and specialized lectures under the supervision of leading Saudi and international researchers — reinforcing a culture of innovation and stimulating research capabilities in key technology fields.

Global research units are among the program's key components, giving students the chance to connect with international experts and faculty members from prestigious universities in fields such as medicine, artificial intelligence, big data, cybersecurity, economics and aerospace engineering.

The program stems from Mawhiba's vision of developing national human capital in precise scientific fields, strengthening the Kingdom's standing in international excellence indicators, and leveraging King Saud University's scientific capabilities to help achieve Saudi Vision 2030's goals of transitioning to a knowledge- and innovation-based economy.
