Folk Arts Ignite “Bait Hail 2025” Stage, Showcasing the Diversity of Saudi Heritage
Hail | 20 Muharram 1447 AH – July 15, 2025
Amid a lively heritage atmosphere, the stage at the “Bait Hail 2025” festival in Aja Park was set alight by folkloric performances blending authenticity and diversity, as visitors and vacationers of all ages turned out to enjoy artistic scenes echoing the many colours of folk heritage.
The stage shone with performances of the Saudi Ardah and Samri, reflecting the skill of the participating troupes and the enthusiasm of an audience that swayed to the beat of drums and the dance of swords in a scene embodying the physical power and communal spirit of folk art, while local Hail arts added a distinctive touch reflecting the region's identity and heritage.
Folkloric diversity from across the Kingdom. As part of the cultural exchange, the evening also featured folk arts from outside the region, with the Asir folk troupe performing the “southern step” dance, known for its harmonious grounded rhythm and sweet folk melodies, adding a national dimension that united northern and southern heritage in one collective artistic scene.
The southern step relies on the harmony between voice, footwork and the stamping of the ground, and is regarded as one of the most storied folk arts of the Kingdom's south, with its melodies and styles varying from one region to another.
30 days of stories and heritage. The fourth edition of the “Bait Hail 2025” festival, running under the slogan “This House Is Your House, Welcome Home,” continues for 30 days and includes more than 40 heritage and artistic events designed to introduce visitors to the life of their ancestors, covering food, clothing, housing and social customs.
These events reflect organizers' commitment to reviving national heritage and strengthening the community's cultural identity by blending entertainment with education, cementing folk arts as a fixture of the Kingdom's tourism and cultural events calendar.
