Al Baha's regional secretariat has launched the “Al-Aqeeq Summer Shopping and Entertainment Festival” amid a striking festive atmosphere at Taibat Al-Ism Park in Al-Aqeeq governorate, attended by Al Baha regional governor and head of the executive committee for Al Baha summer events, Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al-Sawat, and Al-Aqeeq governor Salem bin Musair bin Tawalah, as part of the “Al Baha Summer 2025” series of events.

A dazzling opening and varied artistic programming. The opening ceremony featured a video presentation highlighting the region's key summer events, followed by poetry and musical segments that gave the ceremony a heritage flavour, most notably a rabab performance and a distinctive musical operetta titled “Aqeeq Summer,” while fireworks lit up the governorate's sky to wide admiration from attendees and visitors.

A festival boosting tourism and recreational activity. Dr. Al-Sawat said the Al-Aqeeq festival is an important stop on the Al Baha summer program, crowning fruitful cooperation between the secretariat, governorates and municipalities to boost domestic tourism and support cultural and recreational activity in the region.

Record turnout. He noted that the number of visitors drawn by “Al Baha Summer” events since they began has surpassed 2 million, reflecting the region's growing standing as a tourism and recreational destination nationally, and confirming the success of the plans in place to offer attractive, varied content that meets visitor expectations.

Upcoming events in Al-Aqeeq. The governorate's summer events continue with the launch of the “City Hub” entertainment festival, along with equestrian races starting next week, further diversifying the lineup and drawing wider segments of visitors and tourists.

The event reflects the success of Al Baha region's vision of boosting quality of life and city “humanization” through integrated seasonal events that support tourism and cultural development in the region.
