The fourth edition of the "Khairat Al-Jouf" festival opens tomorrow, Sunday, at Al-Nakheel Park in Sakaka, organized by the Al-Jouf branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture. The five-day agricultural and commercial event brings together 30 farmers, along with several agricultural associations and home-based businesses, aiming to boost the marketing of local agricultural products and support the region's food security efforts.
Agriculture: Al-Jouf's Identity and Wealth
The festival runs for five days and serves as an important platform for farmers to showcase their products and build new marketing links with customers and enthusiasts. It also highlights the richness of Al-Jouf's agricultural produce, most notably:
- Grapes
- Figs
- Watermelon and cantaloupe
- Honey products and olive derivatives
Diverse Educational and Entertainment Activities
The festival includes educational corners for visitors, alongside pavilions for government and private entities, dedicated children's activities, and educational and entertainment competitions aimed at raising community awareness of the importance of local products and supporting national agriculture.
Tangible Impact from Previous Editions
The festival's three previous editions achieved notable success by:
- Boosting commercial and agricultural activity in the region
- Raising food and agricultural awareness
- Supporting home-based businesses and cooperative associations
- Strengthening Al-Jouf's position as a leading agricultural hub in the Kingdom
This edition seeks to build on that momentum by offering a comprehensive experience that combines direct shopping for local products with awareness of modern agricultural practices.
Promoting Agricultural Tourism
The Khairat Al-Jouf festival offers an opportunity to introduce visitors from inside and outside the Kingdom to the region's natural beauty and agricultural diversity, reinforcing Al-Jouf's agricultural and tourism identity in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
