Date and local product enthusiasts are gearing up for the launch of the new edition of the Buraidah Dates Carnival next Friday at Dates City in Buraidah, running until October 5, 2025. The event is one of the most prominent agricultural carnivals in the Kingdom and the region, organized by the Emirate of Al-Qassim region and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, and directly supervised by the National Center for Palms and Dates.

The carnival's history spans more than 25 years, having begun its first edition in late 2006 inside Buraidah's vegetable market, before moving to the dedicated Dates City in 2016. The event later underwent qualitative transformations, including spatial expansion and improved messaging, culminating in the adoption of the new name "Buraidah Dates Carnival" in 2023, launched by His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Qassim region, ushering in a new phase of professionalism and reach.

The carnival embodies the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in supporting the agricultural sector and developing supply chains, by promoting Saudi date products and highlighting Al-Qassim's status as an important agricultural and historic hub. It also provides a direct marketing environment for farmers and producers, alongside ample space for tourism and cultural experiences.

This year's carnival program includes comprehensive and diverse activities, such as:

  • Exhibitions of processed products related to dates and their derivatives
  • Participation from home-based businesses and local craftsmen
  • Poetry evenings and folk art performances
  • A children's entertainment zone featuring drawing and interactive games

The carnival draws thousands of visitors from across the Kingdom and Gulf countries, thanks to the comprehensive experience it offers combining shopping, knowledge, and entertainment, amid an atmosphere evoking palm heritage and authentic Saudi hospitality.
