Madinah International Book Fair 2025, now in its fourth edition, is a prominent knowledge landmark on the national cultural events map. Eng. Bassam Al-Bassam, Director General of the General Publishing Department at the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, affirmed that this edition represents a qualitative leap in the scale of participation and the diversity of accompanying programs, compared to previous editions.

The fair is the second stop in the series of book fairs organized by the commission this year, following the Jazan fair, and features an integrated cultural program including intellectual seminars, literary and poetry evenings, and specialized workshops, with the participation of a select group of writers and intellectuals from inside and outside the Kingdom. This cultural momentum has given visitors a multi-dimensional experience combining knowledge enrichment with direct interaction with cultural elites.

Al-Bassam noted that this edition is marked by maturity and expansion on all levels, both in cultural content and community impact, which strengthens Madinah's position as an active knowledge destination hosting national and international cultural activity.

Among the most notable additions this year is a dedicated area for discounted books, which has attracted a wide segment of visitors looking to acquire books at nominal prices, supporting the culture of reading and widening access to knowledge.

The fair also featured a major expansion in activities dedicated to children and families, and developed the visitor experience through organizational improvements and smart services, making a visit to the fair a comfortable, integrated experience that meets the expectations of different groups.

Al-Bassam affirmed that this progress reflects the commission's commitment to supporting the local publishing industry, empowering those working in the book sector, and delivering knowledge to various segments of society, in a step that translates the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in building an advanced knowledge society.
