Activities of the Buraidah Dates Carnival 2025 have kicked off in the City of Dates in Buraidah, amid a lively atmosphere combining commercial, entertainment and cultural elements. The event, which began in early August, runs until October 14, pursuing three main goals: supporting date sales, exports and marketing; reinforcing the cultural identity of the Saudi date palm; and adding an innovative entertainment dimension inspired by the date product.

The carnival is considered one of the largest seasonal date-related events in the world, having earned a Guinness World Record last year as the largest dates carnival on the planet. The event draws farmers, shoppers, date traders and palm industry stakeholders from inside and outside the Kingdom, as well as tourists and visitors seeking a unique cultural and commercial experience.

In its previous edition, the carnival achieved record sales exceeding SR 3.2 billion, while Qassim region retains its position as the Kingdom’s largest date-producing and exporting region, with annual output reaching 578,000 tonnes and around 11.2 million date palms out of the Kingdom’s total of 37 million palms.

The carnival is organized under the supervision of the Emirate of Qassim Region, in cooperation with the National Center for Palms and Dates and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, running over 75 days through a variety of programs including awareness, cultural and entertainment activities targeting different segments of society, alongside farmers and traders, as part of efforts to cement the global standing of Saudi dates.
