Namas | August 17, 2025
In a summer scene brimming with authenticity, Al-Dhabab Walkway in Namas governorate hosted the "Jawlat Thara" (Thara Tour) event, organized by the Asir Development Authority and Namas Municipality as part of Summer 2025 activities, offering a unique window into the region’s environmental and cultural richness.
The juniper tree, a symbol of Asir’s nature and a companion of the mountains for centuries, was the focal point of the event. Visitors learned about the ancient tree’s history and its relationship with people and place across the ages, through interactive exhibits and innovative displays, extending to modern products such as perfumes extracted from juniper leaves, bringing together past and present.
The tour was not limited to the environmental side but also opened onto the world of Asiri hospitality, with corners featuring traditional foods such as areeka, tasabee, ma’sooba, local bread and fatir, evoking scenes of warmth and authentic generosity at ancestral tables.
Musical performances rang out with Asiri melodies to the rhythm of "al-tariq," featuring poets and performers who presented musical pieces and national songs etched in Saudi memory. The event also included panel discussions on Asir’s arts, literature and long history.
"Jawlat Thara" rounded out the experience as a visual and musical journey blending nature, heritage and culture, presenting Asir as a unique tourism and cultural destination capable of creating exceptional experiences that reflect the authenticity of the place and the spirit of its people.
