The city of Buraidah is preparing to launch the Dates Carnival 2025 next Wednesday at King Khalid Cultural Center, amid an atmosphere celebrating the date palm’s fruit and its economic and cultural significance. The carnival runs until September 9, before its closing on October 9, organized by the National Center for Palms and Dates and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, under the supervision of the Emirate of Qassim Region.

The event aims to offer visitors a comprehensive entertainment and educational experience, through more than 30 events combining agriculture, commerce, arts and culture, as well as highlighting Qassim’s heritage and boosting domestic tourism.

Among the most notable events:

  • "Palm Telematch," offering exciting competitions with an entertainment flavor.
  • "Palm Theatre," hosting heritage and musical performances.
  • The Saudi Ardah, lending the atmosphere an authentic national character.
  • A heritage photography corner, letting visitors capture their memories with touches of the past.
  • A tourist caravan, departing daily from the City of Dates to the event site via a dedicated bus, offering visitors a guided tour of Buraidah’s landmarks and the carnival’s story.

The event also hosts a workshops zone, offering training programs and specialized interactive sessions on improving date production and product efficiency, and innovation in using palm byproducts, with the participation of agricultural experts, productive families and craftspeople, and young men and women showcasing their handmade creations.

The carnival is expected to draw thousands of visitors from inside and outside the Kingdom, reinforcing Buraidah’s standing as the capital of dates and reflecting the Kingdom’s global position as the largest producer and exporter of dates.
