The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research is a research institute of Umm Al-Qura University. It began in 1395 AH (1975) as a research unit at King Abdulaziz University, became the Hajj Research Centre and was later attached to Umm Al-Qura University, with its headquarters in Mina. The institute conducts field and technical studies to improve Hajj and Umrah services, crowd management, transport and housing, and advises the operating bodies.
Each year it organises the Scientific Forum for Hajj, Umrah and Visit Research, which reached its 26th edition in 2026.
