Jeddah is preparing to host the fifth edition of the International Innovation in Water Sustainability Conference (IDWS 2026) at the Ritz-Carlton Jeddah, under the patronage of HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Region, and hosted by the Saudi Water Authority.
The conference brings leaders, experts, researchers and innovators from around the world together to discuss the future of the water sector and present the technologies and solutions that can strengthen sustainability and raise the efficiency of water resource management.
A Global Platform for Water Innovation
The conference offers a specialized three-day program addressing issues tied to the future of the water sector, including the governance of water systems, financing, and scaling up the application of innovative solutions and technologies.
The event also includes specialized technical briefings for sector specialists and professionals, along with an international exhibition presenting the latest technologies and solutions in water sustainability.
The Global Water Innovation Award and Miyahathon
The new edition hosts the fourth Global Water Innovation Award, which spotlights innovative solutions and ideas in the sector.
The program also includes the Miyahathon hackathon, focused on developing practical, scalable solutions to water-related challenges, with the participation of innovators, idea owners and specialists.
The Water Academy and Opportunities to Learn and Connect
Accompanying events include the Water Academy, led by the Saudi Water Authority, which offers specialized training programs in water governance, related technologies and operations.
The conference also features a global platform for launching water innovations, along with scientific paper presentations and startup participation, providing an environment that combines knowledge, innovation and investment and partnership opportunities.
Strong International Participation
IDWS 2026 is expected to attract more than 10,000 visitors, along with more than 150 exhibiting brands and around 250 speakers representing close to 140 countries, reflecting the conference's international character and its importance in the water sector.
