Red Winds and Coral Worlds 2026 continues to welcome visitors at Hayy Jameel in Jeddah until 26 October 2026. The exhibition offers an artistic and cultural exploration of the Red Sea’s history and the human, cultural and commercial connections it has forged between its two shores over centuries.
It takes visitors on a journey across art, history and the environment, examining how trade routes, pilgrimage journeys and migration shaped the cultural identity of Red Sea coasts. Artworks, documents and archives highlight the region’s long history of civilisational exchange.
The exhibition brings together multisensory works using sound, scent, texture and visual elements to create an interactive experience. It reinterprets Red Sea history through a contemporary approach that combines art and research, giving visitors an immersive alternative to a conventional display.
A diverse cultural programme accompanies the exhibition, including panel discussions, artistic and film presentations, workshops, and educational programmes for children and young people. It seeks to raise awareness of coastal heritage and encourage engagement with the environmental and cultural issues connected to the Red Sea.
The exhibition forms part of Hayy Arts programming at Hayy Jameel, which presents museum-scale artistic experiences and highlights art’s role in documenting cultural and environmental memory. It supports Jeddah’s position as a centre for arts and culture and aligns with the ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030.
