King Abdulaziz Square extends along Al-Ghamamah plaza west of the Prophet's Mosque, between the regional emirate building, Al-Anbariyah Mosque and the municipality building, on the site where the people of Madinah welcomed the founder King Abdulaziz. The Governor opened the first phase of the square's revival project, and Madinah Region Municipality equipped it with sound, lighting and screens as one of the city's national-celebration venues.
The square hosted the Founding Day exhibition "The Day We Began" on 22 February 2025 and National Day celebrations, and its open plazas offer breathing space for visitors in the central area.
