Dammam, December 7, 2025 — The Dammam Monodrama Festival, organized by the Theatre and Performing Arts Society, continues, with a notable rise in competition among participants and growing public turnout for performances held at the Dammam Culture and Arts Society and the Kawaleis Theatre.

The festival has presented a number of theatrical works that sparked in-depth discussion at the accompanying panel sessions, most notably "Dick," "Fridge Embryos" and "Moon," which tackled human and intellectual themes through advanced performance techniques, showcasing solo actors' skill in delivering monodrama with high professionalism.

The festival also held a training workshop titled "Performance Techniques in Monodrama," focused on training actors through practical exercises in voice, breath control and articulation, in addition to exercises to activate imagination and strengthen stage presence.

Yousef Al-Khamis, director of the Culture and Arts Society in Al-Ahsa governorate, stressed the importance of such festivals in honing and developing theatrical talent across various fields, noting that bringing veteran and young creatives together in one artistic space creates a rich environment for experience-sharing and skill exchange, contributing to the development of Saudi theatre.

The Monodrama Festival continues offering its artistic and training programmes, aiming to support talent, elevate performance standards and strengthen theatre's presence in the Kingdom.
