Jazan City Theatre to Host Jazan Festival 2026 Opening Ceremony
Jazan, 9 Rajab 1447 AH (29 December 2025)
The Jazan City Theatre on Jazan's southern corniche will host the opening ceremony of Jazan Festival 2026 next Friday, at a comprehensive site spanning around 35 square kilometers and featuring what is described as the largest seaside theatre built in Saudi Arabia, a step that reflects the region's growing ambitions in tourism and entertainment events.
The theatre has a seating capacity of more than 10,000 spectators, plus five dedicated VIP areas, and the site has been equipped with parking for more than 9,000 vehicles, helping ease visitor traffic and ensure smooth entry and exit.
The theatre was purpose-built for Jazan Festival 2026 to high technical and engineering standards that ensure top safety levels and quality visual and audio experience, making the most of the seaside location overlooking the Red Sea to deliver a distinctive viewing experience that blends natural beauty with live performances.
The area surrounding the theatre includes a comprehensive set of facilities and services, including varied shopping areas, 24 restaurant and café kiosks, an art exhibition, a games area for children and families, a bird garden, and a Jazan regional museum within the "Earth Zone," which showcases the region's history and natural and cultural heritage through modern, interactive display methods.
This temporary seaside theatre is part of a broader push to offer festival visitors an integrated experience combining entertainment, culture, shopping and services in one location, while maintaining flexibility and sustainability in temporary event sites, strengthening Jazan's standing as a year-round tourism and entertainment destination and supporting the region's tourism-development and quality-of-life goals.
