Uqlat Al Suqur, 23 Sha'ban 1447 AH (11 February 2026)

The Qassim Region Municipality, represented by the Uqlat Al Suqur Governorate Municipality, launches the sixth "Al Saman wal Sameen" (Ghee and Fat) festival tomorrow at the events square, running for 11 days and offering an integrated heritage, economic and social experience.

Eng. Khalid Salem Al Shalahi, Mayor of Uqlat Al Suqur, said preparations are complete, with the festival site readied, infrastructure maintained, the square resurfaced, decorative lighting added and pathways organized, in keeping with the festival's identity and improving visitors' comfort and the quality of the experience.

Al Shalahi said the festival will feature varied events including a hospitality majlis to welcome visitors, a children's theater, food trucks, productive family stalls, folk gatherings and a play area, along with the participation of government bodies and non-profit associations, strengthening the festival's community role.

The festival extends the municipality's efforts to support local development by empowering productive families, energizing the rural economy and improving quality of life through attractive recreational spaces, while enhancing the urban scene, highlighting the heritage identity of Uqlat Al Suqur and strengthening community participation.
