Najran's heritage markets are among the oldest in the region, holding within their corridors historical tales and deeply rooted folk traditions. Handicrafts shine in every corner of the market, with leather goods, woodwork and textiles displayed with skill in shops lining long passages that offer heritage products in wide demand, especially during Ramadan each year.

Varied Traditional Products

The markets offer a wide range of locally made heritage goods, most notably pottery and stoneware such as the cooking vessels known as the "burmah" and the "midhan", as well as pottery drinking vessels such as the "zeer" and the "jarrah".

The janbiya and dagger market is one of the most prominent sections, displaying the traditional daggers that form an important part of the region's heritage dress and are worn at national occasions and Eid.
