The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has begun applying smart sensor systems linked to the "Nusuk" card in Mina for the first time, within an advanced operating system designed to organize the grouping of pilgrims based on accurate real-time data, improving the flow of movement and raising the efficiency of crowd management during the Hajj season.

The development is part of the continuing digital transformation of Hajj services. The Nusuk card is one of the main organizational tools for identifying pilgrims and linking their services electronically through the unified permits platform, supporting more efficient management of entry to the holy sites and the Grand Mosque.

Technology Solutions to Strengthen Crowd Management in the Field

The smart sensor systems linked to the card support field decision-making by providing instant data on pilgrims' movement, speeding up the response to operational changes and raising safety and organization inside Mina.

The card, in both its paper and digital versions, also gives access to the pilgrim's services through approved electronic channels, strengthening the integration of digital solutions and raising service quality across the stages of the Hajj journey.

Organizing Movement and Reducing Cases of Lost Pilgrims

The Nusuk card supports the organization of pilgrims' movement between the holy sites and service locations by enabling field teams to verify pilgrims' data accurately, reducing cases of lost pilgrims, organizing entry to camps and transport and strengthening integration among the bodies serving the Guests of God.

Distributing the card in pilgrims' home countries before they arrive in the Kingdom also raises early readiness and organizes entry procedures to the holy sites within an integrated operating system.

A Basic Requirement for Entering the Holy Sites

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah stressed the importance of pilgrims and Hajj missions carrying the Nusuk card and ensuring it is activated and used at every stage of travel and access to sites and services, noting that it is a basic requirement for entering Makkah, the Grand Mosque and the holy sites, as well as the Rawdah at the Prophet's Mosque.

This is part of the ministry's efforts to strengthen pilgrims' safety and raise the efficiency of the organizational and technical services provided during the Hajj season.

More Than 1.6 Million Cards in the Previous Season

During the Hajj season of 1446 AH, more than 1.6 million Nusuk cards were distributed to pilgrims, along with more than 90,000 cards to workers, reflecting the expanding use of digital solutions supporting the Hajj system and improving the experience of the Guests of God.
