The King Abdulaziz Public Library, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Education in the Riyadh Region, launches the 26th Free Reading Festival next Sunday for public school students, from 10 to 14 May at the library's branch in the Al Murabba district of Riyadh.
The festival brings together more than 100 schools, more than 1,550 male and female students and a number of educators and teachers, as part of efforts to promote a reading culture and develop the knowledge skills of young people.
Cultural and Interactive Programs for the Love of Reading
The festival is part of the National Cultural Project for Reconnecting with Books and includes a set of events and activities combining free reading and training courses, along with the use of modern technology to enhance the reading experience.
The program also includes a training course in the main theater of the library's Khurais Road branch for students, developing their reading and knowledge skills.
Nurturing Reading Habits and Building Knowledge
The events aim to develop students' inclination toward reading and a love of learning, widen their literary, scientific and cultural knowledge, and encourage teachers to establish the concept of free reading.
