The Jamarat facility in Mina is continuing its intensive preparations to receive the Guests of God during the Hajj season of 1447 AH, within an advanced engineering and operational system that ranks among the largest organizational projects at the holy sites, designed to manage crowd movement and ease pilgrims' passage during the stoning ritual to the highest standards of safety and flow.

The facility reflects the scale of development in the infrastructure of the holy sites, through an integrated system combining engineering solutions and modern technology to manage millions of pilgrims with high efficiency.

A Multi-Level Facility for Managing Crowds

The Jamarat facility consists of several connected levels, with 11 escalator buildings and 10 tunnels dedicated to easing the movement of pedestrians and crowds, distributing densities and reducing congestion at peak times.

The facility relies on advanced operating systems and technology to monitor grouping and manage the flow of people inside the bridge and its surroundings in real time.

Kidana Continues Maintenance and Preparation

Kidana Development Company, the executive arm of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites, is carrying out comprehensive maintenance and preparation of the facility under an operational plan aimed at raising the efficiency of facilities and their readiness to serve pilgrims.

The company manages an integrated technical system including 340 escalators and 682 digital surveillance cameras to monitor crowd movement and ensure smooth passage inside the bridge and the surrounding corridors.

228 Golf Carts and Supporting Transport

As part of mobility plans inside the facility, 228 golf carts have been allocated to serve pilgrims and workers inside the Jamarat and vital facilities, supporting fast movement and easy access across sites.

The company has also provided more than 28,000 plastic barriers to organize crowd movement and direct routes precisely, enhancing pilgrims' safety during the rituals.

High-Readiness Safety and Firefighting Systems

On safety, the facility is equipped with an advanced firefighting system of 295 fire cabinets, 1,078 fire extinguishers and more than 3,350 automatic sprinklers, ensuring rapid response and higher safety levels inside the bridge.

Preparations also included operating and maintaining 456 air conditioning units to provide a suitable environment for pilgrims, and operating more than 74,000 lighting units to ensure clear visibility across the levels, corridors and courtyards.

Comprehensive Maintenance of Facilities and Infrastructure

Engineering maintenance covered the bridges, ramps, tunnels, basement and surrounding courtyards, along with maintenance and repainting of the escalator buildings to preserve the facility's operational and visual readiness.

The plan also included maintaining more than 1,216 guidance and directional signs, repairing more than 520 canopies and metal structures, and preparing the flood drainage culverts and main tents inside the bridge.

An Advanced Model for Serving the Guests of God

The Jamarat facility continues its role as one of the most prominent development projects at the holy sites, through an advanced system that reflects the Kingdom's commitment to developing infrastructure and raising the quality of services for pilgrims.

This is part of the Kingdom's continued efforts to serve the Guests of God and achieve the highest levels of safety and operational efficiency during the Hajj season.
