Qatif, 8 Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 AH

HE Turki bin Abdulmohsen Alalshikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, today launched the "Qatif Calendar", a varied package of entertainment, sports and cultural events and activities designed to widen entertainment options in the governorate and enrich the experience of residents and visitors through programs inspired by Qatif's coastal identity and cultural heritage.

The calendar is part of the General Entertainment Authority's efforts to extend quality events across the Kingdom's regions, in line with the Saudi Vision 2030 goals of improving quality of life and developing the entertainment and tourism sector.

Sports Events on the Qatif Corniche

The calendar includes a set of sports competitions held on the Qatif Corniche, including cycling races and marathons, in an atmosphere that combines physical activity with the city's sea views.

The corniche also hosts fishing competitions that reflect the bond between the people of Qatif and the sea, giving participants a competitive experience inspired by the governorate's maritime heritage.

Qatif Souq Revives Folk Heritage

One of the calendar's highlights is the "Qatif Souq", a heritage experience inspired by old traditional markets, offering a social and cultural atmosphere that brings families and visitors together in a setting that reflects the region's authenticity and historical identity.

The souq lets visitors enjoy heritage performances, local products and cultural experiences that evoke traditional life in a modern style.

Classic Car Shows and Cinema Experiences

The calendar also includes classic car shows presenting rare historical models, giving fans of vintage cars a chance to explore important milestones in the history of the automobile.

The events also feature varied cinema experiences and a dedicated area for shopping and entertainment, offering multiple options for all age groups.

"Qatif Sands" for Adventure Seekers

On the adventure side, the calendar offers the "Qatif Sands" event for fans of desert activities and sand shows, with entertainment experiences and field adventures in a desert environment equipped for those seeking challenge and excitement.

These events add to the diversity of the calendar's activities, bringing together the sea, the desert, heritage and entertainment in one complete experience.

Enhancing Quality of Life and Diversifying Entertainment

The Qatif Calendar reflects the General Entertainment Authority's drive to develop sustainable event calendars across the Kingdom's regions, giving citizens, residents and visitors greater opportunities to enjoy cultural, sports and entertainment activities and stimulating tourism and economic activity in Saudi governorates and cities.
