Northern Border University in Arar hosted the "Qurum Al Shamal" competition as part of its Summer Festival 2026, with 100 contestants and 60 volunteers, in an event combining cultural, heritage and creative contests aimed at developing talent and strengthening community participation.

The competition aims to discover participants' abilities and sharpen their skills through varied programs that combine competition and knowledge, encouraging creativity and participation in extracurricular activities and enriching young people's skills and experiences.

The contests featured activities reflecting cultural heritage and national identity, including horse riding, shooting, innovation and technology, traditional dishes and the preparation of Saudi coffee, as well as a cultural challenge, in a blend of heritage, knowledge and innovation.

Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al Rumaih, President of Northern Border University, said the competition is part of the university's Summer Festival programs and aims to give young talent a platform to show its potential across a range of fields, while promoting a culture of volunteering through the participation of dozens of volunteers in organizing and running the events.

The competition reflects the university's commitment to offering quality summer programs that combine education and entertainment, develop personal skills, strengthen cultural identity and encourage young people to innovate and take an active part in community activities.
