A step toward a more sustainable future

The first edition of the Environmental Compliance Forum 2024 launches in Riyadh, organized by the National Center for Environmental Compliance, with the participation of specialists and decision-makers in the environmental field from the local, regional and global levels, to develop a comprehensive vision for advancing the environment sector across government, private and non-profit entities.

Held in Riyadh on February 25-26, 2024, the Environmental Compliance Forum 2024 aims to strengthen environmental commitment across government, private and non-profit sectors, exchange best practices in environmental protection, and set out action plans to enhance environmental compliance in Saudi Arabia.

The forum also offers a unique experience called the "Sustainability Cafe," which provides an opportunity to hear the views of young people and discuss their aspirations and roles toward the environment, with the participation of a number of specialized environmental associations.

The center's official spokesperson, Saad Al-Mutrafi, said that over the two days of the forum, February 25 and 26, more than 40 global and regional figures from 10 countries are taking part to discuss a number of topics related to future trends in environmental sustainability.

The Environmental Compliance Forum 2024 gains its importance from being held amid growing environmental challenges facing the world, such as climate change, environmental pollution and the depletion of natural resources.

Speakers:

Among the most prominent participants are Japan's former environment minister and acting head of the environmental crimes department at the public prosecution, Yoshiaki Harada, along with a number of CEOs of national environmental centers and major national companies such as NEOM and Red Sea International, New Murabba Development, the Saudi Electricity Company, and Ma'aden, as well as advisors and officials from the environmental protection departments at the ministries of Investment, and Human Resources and Social Development, the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, and the Red Sea, Transport, Eastern Province Development and Riyadh Municipality authorities. The forum also includes the participation of a number of Saudi and European universities, such as KAUST, Najran University and the University of Florence in Italy, along with a number of Saudi companies and environmental consultancy firms from the Kingdom and the Gulf.
