Duodrama Festival 2 Opens Tomorrow in Al Baha Under the Patronage of the Regional Governor
The Duodrama Festival 2 opens tomorrow, Wednesday 26 August 2026, at the King Abdulaziz Cultural Center in the Al Baha region, under the patronage of HRH Prince Dr. Hussam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al Baha, with a cultural and artistic program running until 30 August.
Over five days the festival presents a varied lineup of programs, theatrical performances and artistic shows featuring talent from the young men and women of Al Baha, a step aimed at widening opportunities for theater practitioners and performing artists to present their creative work directly to the public.
A Platform for Theater Talent in Al Baha
The second edition focuses on empowering local talent and giving theater artists a bigger space to appear and take part, helping to energize the region's cultural and artistic scene and strengthen the presence of the performing arts among the events Al Baha hosts.
The festival is supported by the Theater and Performing Arts Commission, organized by the Theater and Performing Arts Association and delivered by the Society of Culture and Arts in Al Baha, in a collaboration aimed at developing the theater sector and bringing cultural and artistic activities to every region of the Kingdom.
Nasser Al Qasabi: The Festival Supports a Sustainable Theater Movement
Nasser Al Qasabi, Chairman of the Theater and Performing Arts Association, thanked the Governor of Al Baha for his patronage, saying it reflects the attention the cultural and artistic sector receives and helps create an environment in which the region's creative talent can develop and emerge.
Al Qasabi said holding the second edition in Al Baha is part of the association's policy of spreading its projects and activities across the Kingdom's regions rather than confining them to a single city, reaching practitioners and audiences where they live.
This approach widens opportunities for participation and empowerment for artists, contributes to building a sustainable theater and arts movement, and enriches the Saudi cultural scene with experiences and talent from every region.
