Amala Yachts Club has officially commenced operations on the western coast of the Kingdom, marking a new step aimed at enhancing Saudi Arabia’s presence on the global yachting and luxury sailing map, and providing a new winter destination for the international yachting community on the Red Sea.

Red Sea International announced the official launch of the club, located within the Marina Village of Amala Destination, which has begun welcoming founding members and visiting yachts to explore the destination and its maritime and tourism facilities.

Amala enjoys a strategic location for international yacht routes, being approximately 2,000 nautical miles, or about 3,700 kilometers, from Monaco, offering yacht owners a new option during the winter season, especially as the movement of luxury sailing typically shifts from the Mediterranean to warmer regions starting in October.

119 Yacht Berths and Reception of Yachts Exceeding 100 Meters

The Marina Amala includes 119 berths, capable of accommodating large yachts over 100 meters, along with a range of integrated maritime services, including fueling, with plans to add maintenance and repair facilities in the coming years.

The Amala Yachts Club spans approximately 7,900 square meters, serving yacht owners, residents, and visitors with a variety of services and facilities designed to meet the needs of the luxury yachting market.

John Bagano, CEO of Red Sea International, stated that the club’s opening marks the launch of a new global yachting destination offering access to the Saudi coast of the Red Sea, combining luxury, wellness, and the concept of renewed tourism.

The club features diverse social spaces, including Amala Lounge, Al Maha, 27 Degrees, and The Deck, along with a rooftop pool, private meeting suites, and gathering spaces for events.

The club’s academy offers sailing programs and water sports experiences suitable for different levels and age groups, expanding the range of maritime activities available to members and visitors.

The Ocean Race 2027 Arrives in Amala

Amala Yachts Club is set to play a significant role in international sailing sports, hosting the final leg of The Ocean Race in 2027 and a series of international yacht events throughout the year.

The club provides its members and guests access to a range of luxury resorts opened in Amala, supporting the creation of an integrated tourism experience combining sailing, hospitality, wellness, water sports, cultural, and artistic programs.

The destination’s climate enhances its appeal for maritime activities, with an average temperature during the season of about 26 degrees Celsius, with minimums of 23 degrees, and a nearby International Amala Airport about 45 minutes away.

Amala Yachts Club was designed by HKS inspired by the Red Sea’s rocky formations, maritime heritage, and traditional Arab architectural elements, and operates fully on renewable energy, in line with Red Sea International’s commitment to responsible development and renewed tourism.
