The Onaizah International Dates Season 2024 concludes tomorrow, 15 October, under the theme "Seasonal Markets," continuing its success in supporting and developing the palm and date sector in Saudi Arabia. The season aims to strengthen the standing of Saudi dates and position them as the top choice globally, organized by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and overseen by the National Center for Palms and Dates.

This annual event, which has earned the trust of farmers and investors, introduced innovative systems this year, most notably the use of smart carts to display dates, allowing buyers to thoroughly inspect the full quantities on offer before they go to auction. Dedicated lanes were also assigned for each date variety to make selection easier, helping to raise the level of organization and buyer convenience.

The agricultural sector, particularly palms and dates, represents one of the most important drivers of national investment and exports. Saudi Arabia is among the world's leading countries in this field, with clear growth in the complementary and processing industries that support the sector's development. Ongoing efforts by relevant authorities aim to improve production quality, develop value chains, and boost marketing efficiency to attract further investment.
