The 24th Scientific Forum for Hajj, Umrah and Visit Research concludes its work on 21 October 2024, continuing its role in supporting Saudi Arabia's development efforts under Vision 2030. Held under the theme "Excellence in Transport and Crowd Management," the forum saw wide participation from researchers and stakeholders across various sectors, aiming to discuss and present the latest research and innovations related to improving the experience of pilgrims, Umrah performers and visitors.

The King Abdulaziz Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research at Umm Al-Qura University, a leading scientific authority in this field, invited researchers to submit abstracts related to the four main themes the forum focused on. These themes included:

  1. Strategic planning for transport and crowd management: presenting innovative ideas to improve transport and crowd systems during Hajj and Umrah seasons.
  2. Modern systems and technologies: showcasing the latest technologies used in crowd management and ensuring safety.
  3. Sustainable practices: discussing best environmental and sustainable practices in transport and crowd management.
  4. Promoting health and safety: exploring strategies to promote public health and pilgrim safety during their movements.

The forum, in cooperation with the Saudi government, seeks to achieve the ambitious vision of facilitating the performance of religious rites and providing a safe and comfortable environment for pilgrims, Umrah performers and visitors. This aligns with the Kingdom's direction of employing scientific research and modern technology to enhance the services provided at the Two Holy Mosques.
