The Saudi Summer Excellence Awards 2024 have launched to support the tourism and media sectors, running from 1 September through 20 October 2024. Announced by the Saudi Tourism Authority, the awards are part of efforts to strengthen the tourism and media sectors and encourage creators and private-sector investors to spotlight the Kingdom's diverse tourist destinations and activities.

The Saudi Summer Excellence Awards were launched under the patronage of the Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the Saudi Tourism Authority's board during a workshop held last May, which explored avenues of cooperation between the Saudi tourism ecosystem and its private-sector partners to ensure the success of the Saudi Summer 2024 program.

Award categories: the awards are divided into two main categories:

  • The first category, for creators and content makers, includes three tracks:
    1. Most creative content: spotlighting the Saudi Summer program and its seven destinations — Asir, Al Baha, Taif, the Red Sea, Riyadh, Jeddah and AlUla.
    2. Content dedicated to tourism activities: such as mountain camping, hiking, water sports, and visits to heritage villages, among others.
    3. Comprehensive guide content: providing detailed, thorough information about the Saudi Summer program, its destinations and tourism activities.

Winners in each of these three tracks will receive a cash prize of 50,000 Saudi riyals, with winners announced across the Saudi Tourism Authority's platforms.

  • The second category, aimed at private-sector partners, also includes three tracks:
    1. Best tourism product introduced this summer.
    2. Best tourism offers and packages within the Saudi Summer program.
    3. Best marketing campaign launched by a private entity during the program.

A total of 10 winners are expected to be honored at a special ceremony, where they will receive special invitations to attend World Tourism Day, in addition to the chance to participate free of charge in one of the major international exhibitions in coordination with the Saudi Tourism Authority.

The initiative reflects the Kingdom's interest in strengthening the tourism and media sector as part of Vision 2030, contributing to economic diversification and supporting promising opportunities for talented individuals and companies alike.
