Jeddah is hosting, on November 2, 2024, the third edition of the Saudi International Maritime Forum, organized by the Royal Saudi Naval Forces under the generous patronage of Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Held every two years, the forum has become a leading platform bringing together an elite group of maritime experts and specialists from around the world. It focuses on discussing critical issues related to regional and international maritime security and showcases the latest technologies and systems used in the field.

Saudi Arabia has a 3,400-kilometer coastline, underscoring the important role it plays in maritime security and the protection of strategic waterways. The Royal Saudi Naval Forces are keen to keep pace with technological developments and find effective solutions to current and future challenges in the maritime environment, through organizing this forum and its accompanying exhibition, which highlights leading global maritime innovations.

The forum addresses five main themes: strategic maritime waterways, regional threats, maritime security, applications of international law, and combating maritime crime through international cooperation. Its activities include workshops and lectures delivered by a group of highly qualified experts, aimed at exchanging expertise and strengthening cooperation among international navies.

The event is an important opportunity to strengthen dialogue between the Saudi naval forces and their counterparts in brotherly and friendly nations, helping secure maritime navigation and protect global transport routes.
