Amid an atmosphere combining creativity and learning, the Little Craftsman Pavilion at the Saudi International Handicrafts Week "Banan" is drawing strong interest from families and children, offering a unique entertainment and educational experience. Carefully designed to suit children's interests, the pavilion serves as a window for exploring Saudi heritage in an innovative way that sparks children's imagination and connects them with their cultural roots.

Interactive Workshops Combining Fun and Learning

The pavilion gives children a chance to learn about Saudi heritage through fun, interactive workshops, such as:

  • Sadu weaving: where children learn this traditional art in a simplified way.
  • Making clay door molds: giving children the chance to shape traditional doors with their own hands and keep them as souvenirs.
  • Making wooden prayer beads: an educational experience that lets children shape and polish their own beads.
  • Boat and rawshan (traditional window) workshops: for children who love coloring and assembling in a creative way, highlighting traditional architecture.
  • Pottery-making: an artistic experience for children to shape pottery in forms that reflect their imagination and creativity.

A Comprehensive Educational and Entertainment Atmosphere

Activities are not limited to workshops; the pavilion also includes entertainment games designed to develop children's motor and cognitive skills, in addition to an interactive theater offering shows introducing the Banan exhibition and the Kingdom's heritage. A Cultural Message With Global Participation

Ali Al-Qarni, Children's Zone Manager, said the pavilion aims to strengthen children's connection to Saudi heritage through hands-on experiences that blend education and fun, helping instill heritage values in the younger generation.

The "Banan" exhibition, organized by the Heritage Commission from November 23 to 29, 2024, at Boulevard Riyadh City, is a global platform for handicrafts, with more than 500 artisans from more than 25 countries taking part, making it a global cultural and heritage gathering.
