The Heritage Commission yesterday concluded a course on the principles and standards for rehabilitating and restoring urban heritage sites, held over two sessions on the Webex platform.

Delivered by heritage experts, the course highlighted Saudi Arabia's efforts to preserve its cultural heritage, outlining a comprehensive methodology for dealing with heritage sites as well as the core ideas and methods for working on them.

The course also covered methods for analyzing and evaluating heritage sites, assessing their condition, and drawing up plans for their preservation, protection, management, restoration and reuse.

The course is part of the Heritage Commission's efforts to develop and protect national heritage, raise awareness of the Kingdom's work in this field, and build bridges with heritage-related organizations.
