Under the generous patronage of HRH Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Madinah region, the Islamic University launched this evening the 13th edition of the Festival of Cultures and Peoples 2025, with the participation of students representing more than 90 countries from across the globe, in a cultural and humanitarian celebration embodying civilizational diversity under one roof.

The festival is held on more than 28,000 square meters at the university's campus and runs through April 21, featuring more than 150 cultural, entertainment and educational activities covering family, children and community themes, and aiming to draw more than 100,000 visitors from inside and outside Madinah.

In his opening remarks, Islamic University President Dr. Saleh bin Ali Al-Aqla thanked the regional governor for his patronage of the festival, affirming that the university has, since its founding, represented the Kingdom's gift to the world, having graduated more than 100,000 students from 170 countries who carry messages of peace and moderation to their homelands and contribute to their nations' scientific and cultural progress.

Students presented an audiovisual show titled “Vision of a Dream Homeland,” after which the prince toured the pavilions of participating countries, learning about their cultures, customs and languages amid an atmosphere reflecting diversity, coexistence and harmony among peoples.

This year's edition also highlights the Kingdom's efforts under the Year of Handicrafts 2025, and dedicates special days such as Saudi Coffee Day, Tea Day, Arabic Poetry Day, and World Cuisine Day, offering interactive experiences that strengthen values of communication and coexistence.

The festival serves as a unique international platform bringing together students, ambassadors, intellectuals and the local community, aiming to strengthen cultural dialogue, hone students' communication skills, and showcase the Kingdom's image as a home for diversity and peace under Vision 2030.
