In an extraordinary sporting evening as part of Riyadh Season, Mexican boxer Saul "Canelo" Alvarez was crowned undisputed super middleweight world champion after a well-earned win over Cuban boxer William Scull, in a global bout hosted at "anb Arena" in the capital Riyadh.

The event was attended by His Excellency Turki bin Abdulmohsen Alalshikh, chairman of the board of the General Entertainment Authority, who announced at the close of the evening a highly anticipated fight billed as the "Fight of the Century," pitting Canelo Alvarez against American star Terence Crawford on September 12 in Las Vegas, paving the way for a historic clash between two of the greatest boxers of the modern era.

Alvarez put in a dominant performance, controlling the fight and securing victory by unanimous decision, which earned him the titles of all four major boxing organizations, WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO, in addition to The Ring belt, confirming his status as the undisputed champion of the super middleweight division.

The card featured a diverse lineup of bouts involving champions of different nationalities, most notably a win for Saudi boxer Mohammed Al-Aqal over Mexican opponent Alexander Morales in the super featherweight division, and a win for Sweden's Badou Jack, who claimed the WBC cruiserweight belt after a tough contest with Armenia's Noel Mikaelyan.

The night also saw an exciting heavyweight draw between Congo's Martin Bakole and Nigeria's Efe Ajagba, while Mexico's Marco Verde shone with a lightning knockout that ended his middleweight bout in the first round.

The event, the first of its kind at this level to be held outside the United States and Mexico, reflects the Kingdom's growing standing as a leading global destination for organizing and hosting major sporting championships.
