Environment, Water and Agriculture Ministry Declares Full Readiness to Serve Guests of God During Hajj 1446 AH: Proactive Plans and Quality Projects for a Safe, Sustainable Season

Makkah, 9 Dhul Qadah 1446 AH / May 7, 2025

His Excellency the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli, confirmed the full readiness of the system across all its sectors for the Hajj 1446 AH season, ensuring the delivery of water, environmental and food services to the highest standards, within an integrated framework aligned with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

This came during a field visit to the holy sites, which included a meeting at the National Water Company's headquarters and field visits to facilities linked to water supply and environmental health, attended by a number of the system's leaders.

Minister Al-Fadhli reviewed an integrated operational plan that includes 13 new water projects completed ahead of schedule; the expansion of distribution networks, and the rehabilitation of tanks, treatment plants, and control and pumping stations in Mina, Muzdalifah and Arafat; and a proactive plan to ensure the reliability of water supply, food safety, air quality, and monitoring of environmental compliance.

He also reviewed the efforts of the ministry's branches in Makkah and Madinah, which include supervising slaughterhouses, public-benefit markets, health inspections, and emergency rooms and logistics services, alongside the General Food Security Authority's plan to ensure ample flour and wheat stocks.

The tour also covered the operational plan of the National Center for Waste Management ("Mawan"), which has been completed 100% across four tracks: sector transformation, awareness, compliance and rapid solutions, in addition to the plans of the National Center for Meteorology, the National Center for Environmental Compliance, and "Waqaya," the center for combating plant pests and animal diseases.

Minister Al-Fadhli affirmed that these efforts are a translation of the wise leadership's directives and its keenness to ensure the comfort and safety of the guests of God's Sacred House, providing a healthy and safe environment that enables them to perform their rituals with ease, within an integrated service system built on readiness, operational efficiency and rapid response.
