RIYADH — Engineer Badr bin Abdullah Al-Dalbahi, Acting CEO of the General Authority for Roads, conducted a field tour to inspect the readiness of Al-Hada Pass road, one of the most vital routes used by pilgrims to reach the holy sites, as part of the Kingdom's intensive preparations to receive pilgrims for the 1446H Hajj season.
He was accompanied on the tour by Engineer Tariq Al-Shami, Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistic Services for Roads Operation and Maintenance, and Engineer Khalid Al-Otaibi, Director-General of the ministry's branch in Makkah region, where they reviewed the condition of the road and ongoing works on the ground, in addition to assessing the level of coordination with relevant agencies to ensure smooth traffic flow and safe travel.
Al-Dalbahi said the Authority gives top priority to key Hajj routes, foremost among them Al-Hada Pass, given its role as a vital artery linking Taif and Makkah, noting that maintenance and preparation work is carried out to the highest safety and quality standards to achieve maximum operational efficiency during the Hajj season.
The General Authority for Roads, in coordination with the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services, is working to prepare the road network leading to the holy sites through comprehensive field programs that include maintenance, technical support, and integration with security and service agencies to ensure the safety of pilgrims' travel.
The Authority oversees the regulation of the roads sector outside urban boundaries, setting policies and operational standards and applying a comprehensive governance methodology for the sector, as part of its goals to develop a sustainable and safe infrastructure that supports the movement of millions of pilgrims and visitors annually.
