Mina, 12 Dhu al-Hijjah 1446H (June 8, 2025) — The Saudi Electricity Company has announced the success of its operational plan for the 1446H Hajj season, achieving exceptional power reliability across the Holy Sites without recording a single outage in the public grid, despite the highest loads in the network's history at the Mina site, up 4% compared with last year's season — reflecting the efficiency and readiness of the Kingdom's electrical infrastructure.

This came under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Energy and close monitoring by the Saudi Authority for Regulating Electricity, as part of integrated efforts with all sectors to ensure pilgrims' comfort and ease their performance of the rites in a stable, safe environment.

Engineer Khaled bin Salem Al-Ghamdi, acting CEO of the Saudi Electricity Company, said this success comes, after God's grace, thanks to the unlimited support of the wise leadership and the sound direction of Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, which formed a key pillar in raising the reliability of the electrical system during Hajj season.

Al-Ghamdi explained that early preparations began right after the conclusion of Hajj 1445H, resulting in development projects that raised the network's capacity across the Holy Sites by more than 75%, and increased operating efficiency and network safety, enabling an exceptional performance without any faults.

He also noted that more than 2,200 Saudi engineers and technicians from the company's workforce worked around the clock as part of specialised field teams, to ensure the electrical network operated to the highest standards and to address any technical emergency during Hajj season, reflecting the company's commitment to its national role in serving pilgrims.

Al-Ghamdi concluded by confirming that the company has already begun preparations for next year's Hajj, 1447H, under the direction of the Ministry of Energy, to provide an even more efficient and innovative electricity service that matches the leadership's ambitions and pilgrims' expectations, and cements the Kingdom's leading role in managing the world's largest seasonal events to the highest standards of quality.
