"Bait Hail": An Annual Festival Celebrating Heritage and Boosting Tourism and Culture in the Region
Hail, 2 Muharram 1447H, corresponding to 27 June 2025. The "Bait Hail" festival continues to shine as one of the Kingdom's most prominent annual cultural and tourism events. In its fourth edition this year, the festival celebrates the region's heritage and long-standing traditions through a rich program of interactive activities that reflect Hail's historical identity and highlight its heritage diversity, as part of the Summer 2025 events season.
Since its launch, the festival has enjoyed the support and patronage of HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Saad bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Hail Region, and the continuous follow-up of his deputy, HRH Prince Faisal bin Fahd bin Muqrin, as part of efforts to strengthen Saudi cultural identity and activate the creative economy by supporting craftspeople and productive families.
"Bait Hail" is held annually at Aja Park in Hail, embodying a blend of Hail heritage and contemporary activities through more than 40 handicrafts, including sadu weaving, pottery, palm-frond crafts and textiles, and other traditional crafts that highlight the region's cultural dimension, in addition to artistic and musical performances and heritage food offering visitors a complete interactive experience.
The festival draws large numbers of visitors from inside and outside the region, especially during the summer break, and helps stimulate economic and tourism activity by giving productive families and small projects a platform to showcase their work, while supporting cultural activities that connect the younger generation with their roots and identity.
Dr. Samia Suleiman Al-Jabri, professor of modern history at the University of Hail, said the "Bait Hail" festival is a vital platform for preserving traditional crafts and passing them on to future generations, noting that the designation of 2025 as the "Year of Handicrafts" underscores the importance of such events in preserving national identity and opening economic prospects for local craftspeople.
"Bait Hail" continues to present itself as a national model linking past and future, as part of Saudi Vision 2030's goal of positioning local heritage as a pivotal element of sustainable cultural and economic development.
