RIYADH, 27 August 2025 — The Heritage Commission held a screening of the film "Dhabya" yesterday evening at Cinema House, telling the inspiring true story of 15-year-old Saudi girl Dhabya Al-Shahrani, whose archaeological discoveries became a notable addition to the national heritage record.

The story dates back to 2014, when Dhabya began collecting unusual stones from around her, eventually amassing 705 stone pieces. After examination by archaeology experts, it was found that 19 of them were genuine artifacts dating back to ancient civilizations of the Arabian Peninsula.

After documentation, the Commission added these pieces to the National Register of Antiquities, and they were also displayed at the National Museum, becoming a living testament to a young girl's awareness of the value of heritage and her contribution to preserving it.

The film depicts Dhabya's journey and her decision to hand over her discoveries to the relevant authorities, a noble step reflecting deep national awareness. The Heritage Commission gave her an exceptional reward in recognition of this initiative, which has become a source of inspiration for many young people.
