Riyadh hosts the Global AI Summit (GAIN) from 7 to 9 September 2027, organized by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) under the patronage of HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Chairman of the Board of SDAIA. The summit was first announced for 15 to 17 September 2026, before SDAIA announced in August 2026 that it would move to its new dates at the joint request of its international partners, to allow further consultation on the program in light of accelerating global developments in the field. The summit continues to cement the Kingdom's standing as one of the world's leading AI destinations.
In its fourth edition the summit brings government leaders, decision-makers and the CEOs of major technology companies together with researchers, innovators and experts from around the world to discuss the latest technological developments and the future of AI applications across economic and development sectors.
The edition expects more than 300 speakers representing 100 countries, attendance exceeding 50,000 visitors from 150 countries, and more than 200 exhibiting companies presenting the latest innovations and technology solutions, in one of the world's largest gatherings dedicated to AI.
The event covers four main tracks: generative AI and large language models, AI in industry, sustainability, and AI governance and ethics, along with global best practices in developing the policies and legislation that regulate modern technology.
The program also includes an innovation exhibition with dedicated space for startups, an AI hackathon with prizes of up to USD 5 million, and specialized training workshops offering certificates from global technology companies. The summit coincides with the fourth UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of AI, reinforcing Riyadh's role as a global center for dialogue on the future of responsible technology.
The summit builds on the success of previous editions, which contributed to landmark initiatives, most notably the establishment of the UNESCO-accredited International Center for AI Research and Ethics (ICAIRE), headquartered in Riyadh, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to leading global efforts in developing responsible AI in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
