Ithra organised the fifth iRead Marathon at the Ithra Library from 5 to 7 February 2026, in cooperation with the Arab Federation for Libraries and Information and environmental partners, with 52 libraries from 13 Arab countries taking part, up 235 per cent on the previous edition.
Participants read more than 6.5 million pages over the three days against a pledge of one tree for every hundred pages, raising the number of promised trees to more than 65,000, with a programme of sessions and workshops on reading.
