Dar Al-Madinah Museum for Urban and Cultural Heritage is the first museum dedicated to the history and heritage of Madinah, opened in 2011 in Knowledge Economic City on King Abdulaziz Road opposite the Haramain railway station, east of the city. It has a hall on the Prophet's biography and a hall on urban and cultural heritage of 500 square metres each, an open-air museum, an outdoor garden, a heritage bazaar and a shop.
Its highlights include a 100-square-metre model of Madinah with about 4,000 landmarks, along with pieces of the Kaaba covering, rare coins, Umayyad pottery and manuscripts. It opens from 11 am to 6 pm except Fridays, with tickets sold at the entrance.
