"This Is Jazan": An Interactive Journey Through the Region's Past and Present at Jazan Festival 2026
Jazan, 14 Rajab 1447 AH (3 January 2026)
The "This Is Jazan" zone on the waterfront continues to draw visitors as one of the most prominent tourism and cultural experiences of Jazan Festival 2026, presenting a complete picture of the region's past and present and telling the story of the Jazani people from their earliest roots to the features of contemporary development.
The event takes visitors on a knowledge and tourism journey through Jazan's diverse natural environments of coast, mountain and plain, and the unique ways of life that grew from them, forming a rich cultural and human identity that over time became a source of inspiration for folk arts, handicrafts and creative expression.
Sixteen of the region's governorates take part through specialised tourism corners presenting the civilisational heritage and folk traditions of each, along with the features of the development the region is witnessing, in a scene that balances authenticity with modernity and strengthens Jazan's image as an integrated tourism destination.
The zone hosts live performances of the folk arts for which Jazan is known, such as the Saif, Ghazawi and Ma'asha, giving the event a lively interactive character and letting visitors experience heritage arts in an open festive setting.
Visitors can also explore a wide range of heritage artefacts and traditional crafts, including the making of old farming tools, daggers, drinking vessels, pottery and palm-leaf products, as well as honey, ghee and the scented necklaces distinctive to the mountain governorates, along with folk dishes that reflect the character and cultural flavour of each governorate.
"This Is Jazan" demonstrates the ability of the region's governorates to offer an integrated educational and entertaining tourism experience that highlights the richness of maritime, cultural and environmental heritage and lets visitors engage directly with the components of local identity, turning a visit into a living experience that touches the memory and spirit of the place.
Jazan Festival 2026 runs until 15 February with a varied programme of tourism, entertainment, cultural and folk events across Jazan city and the region's governorates, alongside continuing programmes at tourist sites, parks and beaches, strengthening Jazan's standing as an attractive year-round destination.
