Umm Al-Qura University has presented "The Successful Graduate" experience at the knowledge products exhibition of the 2026 Innovation in Applications Challenge, held on the university campus in Makkah as part of the programs accompanying the International Competition on AI in Education 2026, organized by the university in cooperation with the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) and the AI Research and Education Alliance (AIREA).

Graduates' Experiences in Technology

The event took the form of a workshop on the experiences of a number of the university's graduates in AI and modern technology, who presented their career paths and how they turned innovative ideas into practical opportunities in the labor market.

Supporting Graduates' Career Paths

The workshop focused on how career opportunities are created for graduates and how to enter the labor market in advanced technology fields, developing students' knowledge and giving them applied experience.

The event also highlighted the university's role in nurturing creative students' ideas and adopting their innovative projects, and in supporting them after graduation, fostering innovation in technology applications and keeping pace with rapid change in the labor market.

AI and the Labor Market

The workshop addressed a number of topics tied to developments in AI, most notably:

  • Generative AI
  • Programming through creative prompting
  • Applying AI technology in education and work

Participants also reviewed the main transformations in the labor market amid accelerating technological change and the importance of equipping graduates with advanced digital skills that strengthen their future career prospects, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
