Umm Al-Qura University organised the second International Artificial Intelligence in Education Competition in cooperation with The Education University of Hong Kong and the Artificial Intelligence Research and Education Alliance (AIREA), with its main day held at the university in Makkah on 9 April 2026.
Sixty-two projects were submitted, of which 56 were accepted, with 122 student and researcher participants across tracks on applying AI to learning, assessment and educational content, and the winners were honoured at the closing ceremony.
