Kidana Development Company, the executive arm of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites, is continuing its project to shade pedestrian routes in Mina, completing the shading of the section between the Al Shu'aibain tunnels, as part of its efforts to improve the experience of the Guests of God and raise the quality of services during the Hajj season of 1447 AH.

The project is part of a series of development initiatives aimed at enhancing pilgrims' comfort and improving infrastructure at the holy sites in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

More Than 103,000 Square Meters of Shading

The company said the project's total shaded area across its two phases exceeds 103,000 square meters. The first phase shaded around 95,000 square meters and installed 990 misting fans to cool the crowded corridors.

The second phase, dedicated to the Hajj season of 1447 AH, added 8,130 square meters of modern canopies and supported the developed areas with 72 new misting fans to improve air circulation and pedestrian comfort.

Higher Safety and Smoother Movement

The project included the installation of surveillance cameras at the developed sites to strengthen organization and raise safety standards, helping to manage crowd movement efficiently at peak times.

The project also aims to reduce direct exposure to the sun on vital routes and provide a more comfortable and safer environment that helps pilgrims perform their rituals with ease and peace of mind.

Sustainable Infrastructure for the Guests of God

The project reflects Kidana's drive to develop advanced infrastructure that takes account of human and environmental considerations, through sustainable projects that improve quality of life at the holy sites.

It is also part of continued efforts to raise the efficiency of logistics services and support the smooth movement of pilgrims between sites in Mina.
