The "Hira Winter" festival organized by the Hira Cultural District in Mecca has concluded after drawing more than 84,000 visitors, showcasing a distinctive blend of heritage, culture and modern technology. The events were part of the Kingdom's broader efforts to promote cultural tourism and enrich the visitor experience in line with the goals of Vision 2030.

"Revelation Exhibition": authenticity meets innovation

Among the season's highlights was the "Revelation Exhibition," which drew visitors with an exceptional interactive experience simulating the moment revelation began to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The exhibition included:

  • A historical pavilion recounting the story of the Cave of Hira and Khadijah bint Khuwaylid, may God be pleased with her.
  • Rare artifacts, including a photographic copy of the Uthman ibn Affan Quran manuscript and ancient relics inscribed with Quranic verses.
  • Realistic reenactments of historical events using modern technology, giving visitors a unique experience that bridges the past and present-day creativity.

A rich program of cultural and entertainment events

  1. Arabic poetry and verse contests: the events celebrated Arabic poetry as the register of the Arabs, presenting authentic poetry recitals and interactive "poetry duel" contests that fostered pride in the Arabic language and its literature.
  2. Heritage caravan: the "caravan" activity revived the legacy of camel herding and the role caravans played in the economic and social life of Arabs in the past, with reenactments of ancient trade routes that relied on camels, adding a rich historical and cultural dimension.
  3. Challenge arena and winter stage:
    • Adventure enthusiasts enjoyed the "Challenge Arena," which offered thrilling, adventure-filled experiences.
    • The "Winter Stage" added a festive atmosphere with interactive shows and competitions inspired by winter traditions.
  4. Heritage crafts market: the market offered a unique shopping experience featuring local handicrafts and food that reflected both heritage and contemporary character.
