Makkah, May 26, 2025 (28 Dhu al-Qa'dah 1446 AH) — As the Hajj 1446 AH season approaches, Makkah's Hira Cultural District is seeing a notable rise in visitors from inside and outside the Kingdom, who experience an unforgettable faith-based and cultural journey from the cradle of the Prophetic message and the source of revelation, in an experience that blends knowledge, technology and spirituality.

Overseen by the Royal Commission for Makkah City and the Holy Sites in cooperation with the Emirate of Makkah region, the district spans more than 67,000 square meters at the foot of Jabal al-Nour (the Mountain of Light), and houses a range of cultural and faith-based landmarks that embody the greatness of the Islamic message and offer visitors an integrated experience that nourishes both mind and spirit.

The Revelation Exhibition is one of the district's key features, taking visitors through an interactive visual journey recreating, via virtual reality technology, the moment revelation descended upon Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), in a high-definition interactive simulation of the events of the Prophetic biography that reveals the grandeur of the message and the details of the place that witnessed this pivotal moment in human history.

The district also includes the Holy Quran Museum, which houses specialized halls covering rare manuscripts, the history of Quranic sciences and the development of Quranic writing, in addition to the largest Mushaf (Quran copy) and the largest Quran holder in the world, both registered in the Guinness Book of World Records, alongside a massive mosaic panel of Surat Al-Fatiha and the opening of Surat Al-Baqarah spanning more than 76 square meters and comprising more than a million pieces of porcelain. The museum also displays an original piece of the Kaaba's kiswah, adorned with Quranic verses in gold and silver thread.

The district offers an integrated experience for visitors of all ages, featuring outdoor seating areas, cafes, gift shops, and a range of restaurants and facilities blending heritage and contemporary styles, alongside a market for handicrafts and traditional industries, making it a vibrant destination that combines spiritual depth with modern tourist appeal.

The district contributes to enhancing quality-of-life standards and enriching the experience of visitors to the Two Holy Mosques by offering a deeper understanding of the history of revelation and the Prophetic biography, in an environment that celebrates Islamic identity alongside modern technology.
