Madinah, 13 Dhu al-Hijjah 1446H (June 9, 2025) — As part of its continuing efforts to raise the quality of services provided to pilgrims, the Ministry of Tourism announced the completion of its oversight and awareness plan in Madinah, carrying out more than 1,850 inspection visits and 260 awareness visits to hospitality and tourist accommodation facilities during this year's Hajj season 1446H, in the period from the 1st to the 12th of Dhu al-Hijjah.

The inspection tours covered hotel establishments, tourist residential units and accommodation facilities, with 379 violations recorded relating to cleanliness standards, maintenance quality, electronic booking mechanisms, and the level of services provided to pilgrims. The ministry said all observations were addressed immediately, as part of its plan to ensure a complete tourism experience for pilgrims in the period following the performance of the Hajj rites.

Ministry spokesman Mohammed Al-Rasasmeh said these inspection campaigns build on the preparatory track the ministry began early in both Makkah and Madinah, where more than 6,000 proactive inspection visits were carried out before the start of the season, helping raise the readiness of hospitality facilities.

He said the ministry will continue its inspection and awareness campaigns in the coming days to ensure the tourism sector's compliance with regulations and standards, urging visitors to reach out to the unified tourism centre (930) with any observations regarding the level of services.

These efforts reflect the Ministry of Tourism's commitment to enhancing hospitality quality and achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, making the tourism experience in Madinah a model to be emulated, particularly for pilgrims and Umrah performers from around the world.
