The International Dates Season in Unaizah governorate stands as a prominent milestone on the global map of agricultural events, cementing its status as a unique environmental model by achieving zero annual carbon emissions, making it the first event of its kind in the dates sector to apply comprehensive sustainability standards.

The season is built around the Seasonal Markets Platform launched by the National Center for Palms and Dates, aimed at organizing buying and selling operations, enhancing transparency, and protecting the rights of all parties, which raises market efficiency and improves the experience for farmers, marketers and buyers alike.

Saudi Arabia leads the global dates scene, with more than 37 million palm trees and 123,000 farms, and annual production exceeding 1.9 million tonnes, cementing its position as the world’s largest producer and exporter of dates in terms of economic value and quality.

Unaizah’s International Dates Season embodies the Kingdom’s drive to strengthen agricultural sustainability and improve supply chain efficiency, as well as support the global competitiveness of Saudi dates in line with Vision 2030’s goals of achieving food security and environmental sustainability.

The season enjoys wide follow-up and support from relevant government agencies, alongside the participation of farmers, entrepreneurs and marketing companies, in a scene that reflects the Kingdom’s leadership in the dates industry and marketing, and affirms its ability to export a global model that combines agriculture, economy and the environment.
