Al-Hasees Bay is a sandy beach on Greater Farasan Island where parrotfish, known locally as hareed, gather in an annual season at the start of spring, a natural phenomenon long tied to island life. Around it grew the Hareed Tourism Festival, held under the patronage of the Jazan Region Emirate, whose centrepiece is a traditional collective fishing contest by hand and net with thousands of participants.
Together with the celebration grounds and the heritage village of Al-Qassar, the bay forms the main hub of "Hareed Nights", whose 22nd edition in April 2026 drew around 2,500 contestants to the fishing competition.
